Callum was thrilled to get up on a horse for the first time. He has been somewhat afraid of them in the past, although intrigued, so it was a great sight to see him hop right into the saddle on this horse and take his ride around for about 10 minutes with no fear whatsoever. He was delighted to join the other kids for a few minutes, though he didn't go out on the trail with them yet, maybe next year!
While everyone else was out riding, Callum went to feed the oxen and goats. We all had a good laugh that Callum is older than the much larger oxen he was feeding, who were about two years old.
He also got to jump in the pen with the goats and feed and brush them. The people there were so kind to Callum and let him do whatever he wanted with the animals.
We went on our traditional float down from Big Springs, with Callum on his first voyage in the canoe. There were lots of warnings to "sit down" on that trip, but we made it without capsizing. Daddy wanted to get really close to the giant bull moose we saw on the river, and couldn't understand why Mommy got a little nervous. I think she was questioning Daddy's sanity for a minute... Thanks to Aunt Heather for capturing these moments in history.
